Drawing on nearly 40 years in medical practice, Dr. Stu Steinman provides sports medicine and rehabilitation care at WestSports Medicine, his private practice in Norwalk, Connecticut. He diagnoses and treats patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and remains committed to helping athletes return to competition at the highest of their capabilities. Besides treating sports-related injuries, Dr. Stu Steinman offers several other associated services, ranging from individually tailored exercise programs for those with special medical needs to balance training for individuals in their elder years seeking to reduce osteoporosis.
Dr. Stu Steinman received an MD from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and maintains board certification in both sports medicine and emergency medicine. Previously an assistant clinical professor of medicine at SUNY Down State Medical Center, he currently teaches Human Movement and Sports Science as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University. Dr. Steinman has benefitted the greater Connecticut community with his professional knowledge as a member of a committee that helped develop Connecticut’s first concussion legislation and as a former board director for the Milford-based mental health service provider Bridges. Actively engaged with colleagues, he belongs to such professional organizations as the American Medical Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
When away from his office, Dr. Stu Steinman often travels and has visited each of the 50 states and all seven continents. During his trips, he has enjoyed the opportunity to sample the authentic ethnic cuisine of diverse cultures all around the world.
